 Itinerary:

DAY 1: AIPORT – KUMAI – TANJUNG PUTING

On arrival at Pangkalan Bun airport, we will pick you up and then drive to Kumai by taxi (approximately 30 minutes), passing several villages. Upon arrival in Kumai, boat up the river to explore the great mangrove, nipah palm, and wildlife along the Sekonyer river while lunch is prepared on the boat.  Stop in Tanjung Harapan Camp to see the feeding of the Orangutan with some trekking.  Late afternoon, observe the proboscis monkey and other primates along the river. The boat is traditional boat wooden river boat with roof which forms the upper deck where you can view the rain forest as it glides by. Simple mattresses, pillows, meals, bottled mineral water, mosquito nets, simple toilet and shower are available on boat. Overnight on the boat. (L, D)

DAY 2: PONDOK TANGGUI – CAMP LEAKEY – NIPA AREA

After early breakfast, boat up to Pondok Tanggui Camp to witness orangutan feeding around 9 am. Upon arrival at Pondok Tanggui, we walk to feeding area. After orangutan feeding, we can take a short trekking in the forest then proceed to Camp Leakey which takes about 1,5 – 2 hours by boat. After lunch, you will have a chance to take another short trekking or see information center before witnessing orangutans’ feeding time around 2 pm.

After visiting Camp Leakey, we boat down slowly to Nipa Palm Area where you can see beautiful fireflies at night when the weather is good. On the way there, we can still observe the monkeys, birds, and other animals. Dinner and sleep on the boat. (B, L, D)

DAY 3: KUMAI – PUNGGU ALAS

After breakfast, boat down to Kumai and then transfer by car to Jahanjang Village (Around 9 hours). Simple lunch on the way. In the rainy season, we have to take a small canoe along Sungei Panggu Alas, around 1,5 hours to get to Guest House in the Sebangau National Park.  On arrival, settling in a simple guesthouse on Punggu Alas Camp and have a rest.  (B,L,D)

DAY 4: SEBANGAU NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, a local guide will take you do some trekking into the forest to see the endemic vegetation. Keep an eye out for the wildlife, such hornbills, ants nests, wild orangutans and their nests, monitor lizards, and many others. These sightings cannot be guaranteed because all is wild animal. Back to the camp for lunch. After lunch take a motorized canoe  to Panggu Alas Lake, further inside the Park. Look out for birds and do some fishing for dinner . [B/L/D]

DAY 5:   PALANGKA RAYA – HOTEL CHECK IN

After breakfast, we pack the bags and say goodbye to the people of the camp. Simple lunch on the way. On arrival in Palangka Raya, check into your hotel or airport. (B/L)
