Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun
Airport, you will be picked up by our guide and transferred to Kumai. Boat
up the river to explore the great mangrove, nipah palm, and wildlife along the Sekonyer river while lunch is prepared on the boat.
If
we arrive at Tanjung Harapan before 3 pm, we will have chance to visit the
information center and see the feeding time. After that,
slowly explore the quiet river by the klotok while observing the monkeys along
the riverside in the peaceful afternoon. Late afternoon, observe the proboscis monkey and other primates along
the river.
The boat is traditional boat wooden
river boat about 14 m x 2,5 m with roof which forms the upper deck where you can view the rain
forest as it glides by. Simple mattresses, pillows, meals, bottled mineral
water, mosquito nets, simple toilet and shower are available on boat. Overnight

Day 2 Pondok Tanggui – Camp Leakey
After early breakfast, travel up to Pondok Tanggui
which is the rehabilitation center for
the ex-captive
orangutans and see the feeding time around 9 am. We can also take
a soft trekking to explore the rainforest here. Lunch on the boat while proceeding to Camp Leakey, the reasearch center where older orangutans are
reintroduced into the rain forest. The feeding
time is around 2 pm. Overnight on the boat. (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we can take
some time to trek in the forest surrounding Camp Leakey and then go back to the
boat for lunch. After lunch, go to see the feeding time for the second time. Go
back and boat down slowly to explore the black river. Overnight on the boat along
the black river. (B, L, D)
Day 4 Camp Leakey –Pesalat – Tanjung Harapan – Village – Nipah Area
After breakfast, boat to Pesalat Camp where we will have
the opportunity to trek in the forest to observe the wildlife and see reforestation
project. We can also plant a baby tree here (additional charge, pay on arrival).
After that, go back to the boat for
lunch and then travel down to Tanjung Harapan to see feeding time around 3 pm
and visit a local village. Late afternoon, boat down slowly to the Nipah palm
area where you can see the beautiful fireflies when the weather is good.

Day 5 Fireflies – Kumai – Pangkalan Bun
After breakfast, boat to Kumai and transfer to
Pangkalan Bun for your next destination. Tour ends. (B)
The tour including: transfer in and out from and to airport, boat, guide and cook, meals during the trip, snacks, soft-drink, coffee, tea, and mineral water, ranger donation, entrance permit, camera charge.
